Site Purpose

What do you do if you have a head full of life's experiences and don't have a child that you can share it all with?

Perhaps you add all the stories to a web site (like this one) so it can be available to anyone who poses a question to an Internet search engine?

Relationships

Relationships can be hard work unless both of you want the same things from being together. Like lots of other things in life, you learn how little you know when you first get into one. More...

Motoring experiences

How do you progress from being a kid who wasn't allowed to ride a bicycle to being an adult that gets killed in a motorbike crash, gets revived and then has a series of cars of all shapes and sizes? More...

This site is dedicated to those searching for answers on how other people dealt with things!
Hobbies

Want to share some of your craft successes and hints, or chat about your ideas on paper crafting, quilting, knitting, embroidery, etc? Join Shona on her forum.

What's it like to be a....

Shona and I have had various jobs between us. If you've ever wondered what it's like to be a train driver, or a welfare worker or ... have a look to see if we've tried it. More...

Caravanning Adventures

Thinking of getting yourself a caravan and touring during your annual holidays, or in retirement?

Our caravanning pages are intended to share our early learnings in setting up the van we chose and then matching a tow vehicle as well as the adventures we have had since getting the van.

It's a great lifestyle, but pulling a big box along behind your car takes some getting used to. More...

Australian Caravanning Forum

If you are new to the caravanning lifestyle, it is highly recommended that you get some pointers from people who have done it already. More...

Dying

Not something that I'd recommend for people to try prematurely. If you have a major trauma in your life (like a motor bike crash), you may find that your heart stops and you need to be revived! More ...

Death is nature's way of telling you to slow down!

Internet relationships

Logo borrowed (with thanks) from the site Shona and I met onDo dating and relationship web sites work? Some people will tell you glowing stories, and others will have a horror story or two.

Shona and I met this way so perhaps we are biased? More...

Not after a relationship but want to make an e-pal or two for free? There are some strange sites that are out there which would not be recommended for children to use. We've made some lovely e-pals from one site and are therefore comfortable recommending them here for all ages.

Quit worrying about your health. It'll go away. Robert Orben

Places to visit

We've been to quite a few places in Australia. We've also had a very short holiday over to Singapore. Some places we'd recommend you see in your lifetime, others we wouldn't, and some others are worth a look just so you can make your own mind up. More...

More about us...

Want to know more about Shona and Mike? We're just two ordinary people, leading pretty ordinary lives and trying to enjoy everything that comes our way. We're at an age where we are seriously thinking about our retirement, and how much is enough to see us through our days if we want to  travel and explore for as long as we are physically able to. Chinese Whispers?

Did you ever do a "Chinese Whisper" exercise at school?

This is where a number of school kids (it seems to be the same with any group of people) are lined up. The first one has something whispered in their ear and they then have to turn and repeat what they've heard as a whisper into the next person's ear.

It repeats along the line to the last person, and the last person is asked to say aloud what they've been told.

When compared to what the first person had whispered into their ear, it is rarely the exact same message.

Why is this so?

Keep in mind as you go through what's on these pages, that it is only what we have found, and it is as viewed through our eyes.

If you think you know how exactly how someone else feels, but you haven't actually asked them and then listened to what they had to say - then you don't know at all!

Don't judge others using your standards or you may find that few people ever measure up to make it as a friend, and those that do will be exactly like you!
