School Days
School
is definitely a place where youngsters learn and practice social skills.
The basis for these is what they have picked up at home. If a child is
used to screaming or crying or similar and their parents give them what
they want, they will try these techniques at school and probably find
that they don't work. As they don't understand the change in the "rules", they
probably won't want to go back.

If
you could pick your own family, is the one you've got the same as the
family you'd choose? Can you imagine different parents, or being an only

A Guy and his Car
Some guys
can become quite emotionally attached to their car (or motorbike). It's
not like it can reason or respond with any emotional support or physical
gratification or the like, in return is it? Or is it?

What's the right age to get married?
Is
it better to get married while your partner is young enough to train or
leave it until they are older and someone else has trained them? A happy
marriage is one where you are waited on hand and foot, right?

Why are you in a relationship?
Sometimes
it's easier to just be in a relationship that sort of works than to be
single and waiting to be "found". The cycle of going places to meet
someone else, and trying to talk over loud music is much harder than
being in a lack lustre relationship isn't it?

What does the ideal family look like?
I
asked a mate of mine why he got married. I then asked why he had
children. His answers to both questions: 'Because it was expected of
me!' Are you in charge of your own life, or living it to someone else's
expectations? More... |
Do cross-cultural marriages work?
If
the bride or groom has been brought up in a different land and / or with
different beliefs, is the marriage going to work? There may be language
differences as well as pressures from distant family and friends. Will
your love be enough?

Can you keep the "magic" alive?
So
you've found the love of your life. Will it always be so magical? What
are the signs that things are starting to fall apart at the seams? Will
you be able to see it, or will you need a friend to tell you?

Are you smart enough for each other?
Someone
once told me that all the women I'd been with were not very intelligent.
Was the reason I chose that sort of woman so I could dominate them?
Did I make a conscious decision, or it just happened that way?

Good
times only?
Some relationships are like some friendships? They are very much
intended for only the fair-weather.
Would part-time affection and
closeness be enough for you?

What price for affection?
If
you spent all your leisure time down at the pub, would the people around
you actually be friends, or just freeloaders looking for someone to buy
them a drink and a smoke?

Don't be
too zealous about telling other people how happy and contented you are -
many of them will resent it! |

generations
The generations before us grew up with different things that were
important to them.

Meeting on-line

Is it easier to meet real people on-line, or are they just as false
there as in person?

What
kids teach us
Kid's logic is pretty straight forward. Things can be pretty simple
until we learn to lie and cheat and hide our real self away from others.

Every
single one of us is quirky in some way.
Make
allowances for that in everyone you meet, and trust that they'll show
you the same courtesy. |
Maybe I should just get a dog?
Had
a relationship or two and been hurt so bad that you think you will never
mend? A dog will always think you're the greatest and make you feel like
a million dollars.
